Disease that lurks the pilgrims

In addition to heart attacks, pilgrims who are currently in the Holy Land must continue to pay close attention to health conditions. This is because they are very susceptible to experiencing the following diseases:

1. Cholera

In the 2017 Hajj season, cholera is one of the diseases that are often watched out. Even though it's been a year, it's not impossible for cholera to attack this year's Hajj.

Cholera is a disease caused by bacteria. Some symptoms are defecation, runny eyebrows, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. This symptom can appear in 8-27 sticks after being exposed to bacteria causing cholera.

Even though it looks trivial, the symptoms of cholera can still take lives. This is because diarrhea and vomiting due to cholera can drain fluid and particles, so that the body experiences drought until it finally stops functioning.

2. Heatstroke

The weather in the Holy Land currently reaches 42-50 degrees Celsius. Exposure to heat with this temperature, especially in a sustainable manner, can cause heatstroke.

According to Dr. Nadia Octavia from KliKDokter, heatstroke is a disorder of the body caused by exposure to high temperatures.

"This heatstroke often occurs during the Hajj season. However, actually this event can occur in areas where play on words are experiencing extreme temperature increases," he said.

Symptoms of heatstroke are fever above 39 degrees Celsius, rapid pulse, difficulty breathing, increased or decreased blood pressure, and a coma-ended consciousness disorder. If it is not treated quickly, the heastroke can result in deadly and deadly complications occur.

3. Flu

This disease attacks the respiratory tract. The flu is acute and easily transmitted. This disease, commonly called influenza, can be transmitted through the air and other objects containing the infection. Symptoms are fever, cough, runny nose, headache, body weakness, aches, and sore throat.

According to Dr. Nadia Octavia, pilgrims have a high risk of developing flu, especially if they have low immunity.

"The risk is higher, if they have chronic diseases such as diabetes, chronic lung infections, and heart disease. Then, elderly, organ transplant patients, and patients with low immune systems such as cancer," individualized structure Dr. Nadia.

4. Meningitis

One of the requirements to be able to attend the pilgrimage is to have been vaccinated against meningitis. This is specifically requested by the government of Saudi Arabia every Hajj season for prospective pilgrims from all over the world.

The location of the Hajj is a meeting place for people from various countries in the world, making it an easy place to transmit meningitis. This disease infects the lining of the brain and spinal cord. The initial symptoms are nausea, vomiting, rashes on the skin, sudden heat, and pain in the head.

Knowing the threat of the disease above, you who are carrying out the pilgrimage should always pay attention to health conditions with sacraments. Don't let the disease interfere with the worship that you do. So, if you feel your body condition is not good, don't hesitate to immediately move to Indonesian health services in the Holy Land.
